Description
About the Role
We’re looking for full-time support workers to walk alongside people as they explore their community, dive into their hobbies, and build life skills. If you’re someone who enjoys a challenge and has experience (professional or lived) supporting people with complex needs, we’d love to hear from you.
In this role, you will:
- Support people in the community as they set and achieve personal goals
- Encourage participation in daily life and community activities
- Provide practical assistance with routines, well-being, and skill-building
- Model positive behaviours and foster confidence, resilience, and hope
- Keep clear, accurate documentation to support progress
- And most importantly, ensure the people you work with have fun and feel valued!
The right candidate will be flexible to work a variety of day, evening and weekend shifts.
Skills And Experiences
What you’ll bring
Our Dunedin team is looking for someone with:
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A positive attitude and calm approach in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for helping others grow and succeed
- A full driver’s licence and basic computer skills
- A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 4 Mental Health) — or willingness to work toward one once you’re on board
- Must have the right to work in New Zealand
