🗾 About Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture (宮崎県延岡市) 🗾
Located on the northern coast of Miyazaki, Nobeoka is a "hybrid city" that combines rustic, historical areas with modern, urban sectors. Originally a castle town dating back to Japan's feudal era, it has evolved into the prefecture's leading industrial area. Nobeoka is bordered by the Kyushu Mountains to the west and the Hyuga Sea to the east, as well as two areas designated as Quasi-National Parks.
Many rivers flow through the city, the largest of which is the Gokase River. A local attraction is the historic Nobeoka Castle Ruins, and the city is also a great spot for hikers and scuba divers alike. Nobeoka is said to be the birthplace of Chicken Nanban, the beloved dish of fried chicken dipped in sweet vinegar and topped with tartar sauce. Make Nobeoka your next teaching destination for the 2026 school year.
