Nursing Manager – Mental Health Service – LOCUM RATES

Fantastic opportunity for a Nurse Manager to undertake a leadership position within an established multi-disciplinary team.
You will be working for a leading public health district providing an essential mental health service to regional Victoria.
You will manage a team of like-minded professionals including Registered and Enrolled Nurses.

We are needing a strong leader and experienced nurse for this position, you will play an integral member of the team operationally. Knowledge of rosters, penalty rates, and workforce planning are essential.

You will be working set business hours and be provided with relocation assistance.

This position is a 3 month contract and based in regional Victoria – 3 hours outside of Melbourne.

Essential Criteria

  • Available ASAP or short notice period and able to commit top a 3 month contract
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications, AHPRA Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a registered nurse; and
  • Completion of either Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or Masters of Mental Health Nursing (or other relevant Post Graduate Course) required; or completion of a specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing program; and
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the provision of mental health services.
  • Qualifications in Business or management would be advantageous
  • Victorian Nurse Unit Manager experience within a Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit is preferred, along with knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
  • Extensive skills and experience in mental health services, including a proven ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and contemporary mental health practice
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in Management of rosters, penalty rates, workforce planning essential
