Senior Full-Stack Software Developer

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a track record of shipping quality code
• Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills across both backend and frontend
• Comfortable context switching across database design, API development, frontend polish, and infrastructure management
• Fluent English with clear written and verbal communication skills
• Self-directed and able to manage your own time effectively in a remote environment

You will own features end to end, from database schema to UI, while keeping the infrastructure healthy. You will write clean backend logic in TypeScript and Node.js, polish frontends in React or Astro, and debug deployments over SSH when needed. This role fits someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, moving fluidly across the full stack, and taking real ownership of architecture and deployment decisions.

What you'll own

• Design and implement backend features using TypeScript, Node.js, Prisma, and PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization
• Build modern, responsive frontends using React and Astro
• Own CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance using GitHub Actions
• Provision, configure, and maintain self-hosted Ubuntu servers and manage deployments with Coolify
• Debug production issues, optimize performance, and monitor application health across the stack
• Integrate AI-assisted coding tools into your workflow and team practices

This role is for one of our US clients, and you would be joining their team directly while being supported by Puente through the hiring process. Our client is a forward-thinking software company that builds self-hosted solutions for teams that value ownership and control. They operate with a lean, high-performing team and prioritize clean code, real ownership, and shipping quality products to production. You will join a small, experienced engineering team where each developer owns features end to end, from database schema to UI. You will report directly to the technical lead and work closely with one other senior developer, collaborating daily via Git and Slack while taking full ownership of architecture and deployment decisions.

This is a full-time independent contractor role paying $2,000 to $3,000 USD per month, Monday through Friday 9 AM to 6 PM Central Time. You will work fully remote with a company-provided laptop and receive performance bonuses tied to code quality and feature delivery.
