As a Junior IP Specialist, you will support the IP Development team by assisting in the execution of publishing projects and contributing to the management of assigned intellectual properties (IPs). This role focuses on developing a deep understanding of IP brand guidelines, publishing workflows, and stakeholder coordination, while supporting initiatives to expand IP presence through publishing.

Under the guidance of senior team members, the Junior IP Specialist contributes to smooth project execution and develops the foundational skills required to grow into an IP strategy owner.


What you’ll do


Principal Mission

  • Support publishing-driven IP development initiatives through accurate and reliable execution
  • Build strong knowledge of assigned IPs, including brand guidelines, world settings, and ongoing global initiatives
  • Assist in the smooth progression of publishing projects across internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop a solid understanding of how publishing contributes to IP expansion and value creation


Key Responsibilities


IP Knowledge & Brand Understanding

  • Learn and maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned IPs, including worldbuilding, design charts, brand rules, and reference materials
  • Ensure understanding of IP holders’ guidelines and requirements when supporting publishing projects
  • Assist in confirming that project outputs align with IP standards and brand expectations


Project Execution Support

  • Support senior IP Specialists in managing timelines, deliverables, and approval processes for publishing projects
  • Assist with tracking project progress and flagging potential risks, delays, or issues
  • Help prepare materials and information required for internal reviews and external approvals


Stakeholder Communication Support

  • Assist in communication with IP holders, clients, and internal teams under the direction of senior team members
  • Support coordination between IP holders and publishing clients to ensure smooth information flow
  • Maintain organized records of communications, approvals, and project documentation


Business & Market Exposure

  • Support the collection of basic market information related to assigned IPs and publishing territories
  • Assist in preparing reference materials related to existing projects, clients, and markets
  • Learn how publishing projects contribute to IP presence, fan engagement, and royalty generation


Cross-Functional Collaboration & Learning

  • Work with internal teams such as licensing, business development, operations, contract & royalty, and approval to support project execution
  • Learn internal workflows and best practices related to IP-driven publishing initiatives
  • Contribute ideas or observations to improve project execution, documentation, and team collaboration


Requirements


  • Languages: Japanese (B2 – Upper Intermediate), English (B2 – Upper Intermediate)
  • A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required for this role
  • Strong interest in IP, publishing, and global content busines
  • High attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Basic understanding of project coordination and documentation
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, business-level English and Japanese (business-level French is welcome)
  • Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback
