Senior | Tech Lead Mobile App Developer (React Native) – Remote

$150k - $250k

We need someone with 8+ years of software engineering experience, with deep hands-on mobile work, who has owned the architecture of a production React Native app on both iOS and Android. You should be comfortable writing a lot of code yourself while also making the key technical decisions for the mobile product in a lean, fully remote startup team. You should have a track record of shipping and maintaining apps on the App Store and Google Play. Your current or most recent experience should be in crypto, blockchain, Web3, or DeFi. Bonus points if you've worked on a trading product (for example, fomo), or if you've come into crypto from traditional finance or fintech.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up Injective Labs' new trading app quickly and keep it moving. The app is a perpetual DEX that also includes a prediction market. It's already approved on the App Store and Google Play and is in a gated test launch. You'll be replacing the engineer who built it, who is leaving after more than two years.
  • Own the React Native app's architecture, scalability, performance, reliability, and long-term maintainability across iOS and Android.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and two non-mobile engineers on the team (one junior, one senior full stack). Together you'll turn complex trading features into fast, easy-to-use mobile experiences, including API design, integrations, and real-time data flows (gRPC, SSE, WebSockets).
  • Build complex, high-impact features in React Native and TypeScript, many of them from scratch. You'll also set and maintain the codebase's engineering standards, patterns, and best practices.
  • Lead mobile features from technical design and implementation through testing, App Store and Google Play releases, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Find and fix complex production issues, improve app performance, and guide other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming. Strong performers can grow into the formal Tech Lead role.

Required

  • Experience building and shipping production mobile applications on iOS and Android
  • Current experience in crypto,​ blockchain,​ Web3,​ or DeFi (or recent exit after long crypto tenure)
  • Professional experience in React Native,​ React,​ TypeScript,​ and JavaScript
  • Experience developing crypto,​ blockchain,​ Web3,​ or DeFi production mobile applications
  • 7 -​ 10 years of experience as a mobile developer

Nice to have

  • Experience building fintech or trading applications (real-​time market data,​ order execution,​ charting)
  • Experience owning mobile application architecture and technical decisions for production mobile applications
  • Experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
