Every version is signed with this certificate. apksigner verify --print-certs app.apk shows it; Android also refuses an update signed with a different key.

Once installed, the app updates itself: small updates download in the background, and the app tells you when a new version needs a fresh install.

How to install

  1. Download the APK on your Android phone. Chrome may warn that this type of file can be harmful. That warning appears for every app installed outside Google Play; tap Download anyway.
  2. Open the downloaded file from the notification or the Downloads app.
  3. Allow installs from your browser. The first time, Android asks you to allow “Install unknown apps” for Chrome (or the browser you used): tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, and go back. You can turn it off again after installing, under Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps.
  4. Tap Install, then Open. If Play Protect asks to scan the app, let it.

Google Play or the APK?

Both are the same app, signed with the same key. Google Play is the easier choice for a new install. The APK, served only from expatjobs.io, is for phones without Google Play. If you already installed the APK, keep it: it keeps updating from here, over the version you have, so you won't lose your account or saved jobs. The App Store version is on the way.
