The Critical Skills Employment Permit covers most software, engineering and life-sciences roles paying above €32,000/year. It leads to residency after 2 years and family reunification is straightforward.
Mid-level developers earn €60,000–€85,000/year; senior engineers at FAANG and top scaleups reach €95,000–€140,000. Salaries are among the highest in Europe but rents are also very high.
Very competitive — the market is tight and rents have risen sharply. Many employers include temporary corporate housing for 1–3 months as part of relocation packages. Start the search before arrival if possible.
