- Analyse the balance sheet and P&L, investigate variances and post or propose adjustments
- Strengthen the control environment (4-eye principle, documentation, reconciliation standards) and automate manual work with our data and engineering teams
- Act as main contact for external auditors on your areas, and for other Finance teams such as FP&A, Tax, Controlling and Regulatory Reporting
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years of hands-on operational accounting experience (GL, AP/AR, reconciliations, month-end close), ideally partly in Big 4 audit.
- Experience in a bank, broker, neobank, payments company or fast-growing fintech. Experience with high-volume transactional data is a strong advantage
- A track record of bringing new products, entities or processes into the accounting books (accounting assessment, system setup, controls)
- Solid knowledge of HGB and IFRS. Knowledge of RechKredV (German accounting rules for banks) is a plus
- Strong ERP experience. SAP S/4HANA is a big advantage. Comfortable with large datasets in Excel; SQL or BI tools are a plus
- Accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, Bilanzbuchhalter, StB/WP) preferred
- Fluent English. German is a plus
- Hands-on, structured and detail-oriented. You question manual processes and keep your team supported and focused
