About the employer

WSPPosted on the employer’s careers page · emit.fa.ca3.oraclecloud.comLMIA employer (CA) — employer-level; what this means

Working in Canada

Possible country route: Employer-specific work permit. A job offer is usually needed for an employer-specific permit. The employer may need an LMIA or an exemption. Express Entry permanent residence is a separate process.

IRCC times depend on the work-permit category and application country. Use the live processing-time tool; employer LMIA processing, if needed, is separate.

What to check before applying
  1. Confirm permit and employer steps. Ask whether an LMIA or exemption applies to the offer.
  2. Check the application country. Use IRCC requirements and the current processing-time tool.
  3. Apply for the correct permit. A job offer alone does not authorise work or entry.

Strengthen project planning through risk assessments, safe job procedures, the Hierarchy of Controls and meaningful employee consultation.

Review project HSE plans and documentation to support the consistent application of WSP policies, programs, procedures and processes.

Monitor compliance with WSP requirements and applicable provincial and federal regulations through frequent site inspections, audits and documented reports.

Advise project teams on emerging HSE issues, incident trends, corrective actions and practical risk-reduction strategies.

Support incident investigations and root-cause analyses, including the identification, tracking and closure of corrective actions.

Coach business leaders and professional employees, helping strengthen HSE knowledge, accountability and decision-making across the organization.

Advance continuous improvement by interpreting leading and lagging indicators, supporting emergency preparedness and contributing subject-matter expertise to HSE training, communications and procedures.

A degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution in environment, health and safety, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Eight to ten years of progressively responsible HSE experience supporting industrial or construction projects.

Intermediate-to-senior-level experience providing HSE guidance within complex operational or project environments.

Strong working knowledge of Canadian provincial occupational health and safety legislation, regulations and recognized industry practices.

Experience conducting project inspections or audits, reviewing HSE documentation and supporting incident investigations and root-cause analyses.

A professional designation such as CRSP, CRST, CHSO or CHSC is considered an asset.

Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence project leaders and translate technical requirements into practical actions. Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
