Instrumentation Technician

Instrumentation Technician Needed - Angola - Expat
Must have minimum Trade Test and N2 and code 8 drivers license.
Should have knowledge of DMS Recovery circuits and Diamond mining/plants experience.
Knowledge of maintenance process and principles as well as knowledge of engineering standards.

Location: Angola (Expat)
Role: Instrumentation Technician

Purpose: To conduct instrumentation activities to install/maintain/repair/manufacture control system components to ensure plant availability to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections and fault finding on components in plant.
• Install control systems, instruments, control valves and all other instruments.
• Conduct planned maintenance and repairs.
• Repair/overhaul components.
• Maintain a clean workplace/good housekeeping.
• Complete daily registers and job cards.
• Conduct applicable spares inventory weekly and report.
• Report safety incidents/accidents.
• Comply with safety, health, security and environmental standards.
• Do pre and post assessments of equipment sent for repairs.
• Provide technical assistance and direction to other functional groups in order to drive quality improvements and enhance the maintenance function.
• Liaise with planned maintenance officers to ensure inspection and audit findings are scheduled for remediation.
• Develop the critical spares and sub assembly register for all equipment on the operations.
• Analysing the blueprints for instrumentation systems to determine the specifications of the components to be maintained/replaced.

• Fault find PLC based control system using circuit diagrams and software; Work with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) software, hardware wiring, drives (Siem measuring instruments (scales, weighbridges, level detectors, temperature controllers (Digital and analogue)
• Programme and fault find on the VSD drives.

Required:

• Minimum: N2 plus Trade Certificate through a recognised Institution plus Code 8.
• Minimum: 5 years plant maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of diamond plants and DMS and Recovery circuits.
• Understanding and applying instrumentation best practices and standards.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the mining and processing sector.
• Knowledge of engineering standards.
• Understanding /knowledge of maintenance process & principles.
• Basic Computer and MS office Skills.
• Coaching and teamwork skills
