Role: TSF Foreman - Tailings Storage Facility Foreman
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Monitor and control TSF operations, including tailings deposition, slurry pipes, pumps, and water reclaim systems.
- Inspections and Monitoring: Conduct daily field checks of dam embankments, beach zones, decant pumps, pipelines, and seepage controls to detect, report, and address irregularities.
- Safety Leadership: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations (e.g., GISTM). Conduct toolboxes and risk assessments.
- Team Management: Supervise, train, and mentor operators, including scheduling shifts and managing performance.
- Maintenance: Coordinate the maintenance of equipment, manage breakdowns, and ensure high machine availability.
- Reporting: Document daily work outputs, inspections, and maintenance in accordance with company/client requirements.
- Experience: At least 1-3 years of experience in TSF operations, large-scale tailings dam management, or related civil/mining construction.
- Education: A secondary education certificate (SHS) or equivalent is typically required, with a certificate in Civil or Mining Engineering being advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, site plans, and specifications.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to work in a demanding, outdoor mining environment.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license (often requiring heavy equipment operation or manual transmission).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems in real-time.
