Working in Australia

Possible country route: Skills in Demand (subclass 482). The employer-sponsored Skills in Demand route has stream, nomination, occupation and applicant requirements. It replaced the earlier TSS route for new applications.

Processing differs by stream and application circumstances. Check the current Home Affairs processing-time tool; employer nomination adds its own steps.

What to check before applying
  1. Confirm the sponsor and stream. Ask which 482 stream and occupation the employer intends to nominate.
  2. Check current requirements. Review qualifications, English, salary and any skills assessment on Home Affairs.
  3. Coordinate nomination and application. Keep the employer nomination and applicant visa steps distinct.

About the Function

Sales is where our brands meet the real world.

This team builds the relationships that bring our products to life, partnering closely with customers across markets, channels and occasions to make sure our brands are part of moments that matter.

It’s a dynamic, people-focused environment where curiosity, commercial thinking and strong relationships make the difference. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your network, develop your skills and see the direct impact of your work every day.

About the Role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Field Sales team, taking ownership of a defined territory across Sydney’s North including the Northern Beaches, North Shore & Hills Districts.

This role combines account management and new business development, with responsibility for growing an existing customer base while identifying and converting new opportunities. You will work across a mix of retail and on-premise customers, including multi-site operators and on premise key account groups, building strong partnerships and delivering commercial outcomes through execution, influence, and insight.

Operating with a high level of autonomy, you will run your territory as your own business, supported by a portfolio of leading premium brands and a collaborative, high-performing team.

This territory is strategically important within Diageo’s Northern Sydney region, offering strong on premise growth potential across an exciting and vibrant metro, inner suburban and costal area. With a condensed geographic footprint, it included established accounts and emerging venues, particularly in Northern Beaches, where a growing hospitality scene presents significant opportunity.

Success in this role will involve strengthening customer partnerships, unlocking new growth opportunities, and expanding Diageo’s presence and relevance across this highly visible territory.

Role Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of your territory, shaping plans and priorities to deliver sustainable growth.
  • Create meaningful impact by building long-term partnerships that unlock value for both customers and Diageo.
  • Own opportunities end-to-end - from identifying potential through to execution and delivery of results.
  • Use data, insight and judgement to make smart commercial decisions that grow revenue, distribution and share.
  • Deliver high-quality execution that brings our brands to life and drives performance in market.

Experience / Skills Required:

  • A track record of taking ownership and delivering outcomes end-to-end.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience identifying opportunities and turning them into measurable results.
  • Confidence using data, insights or judgement to inform decisions.
  • Strong prioritisation skills, focusing effort where it drives the greatest impact.
  • Resilience and adaptability in fast-moving or changing environments.

Flexible Working

Flexibility is key to our success. Talk to us about what flexibility means to you, so that you’re supported to manage your wellbeing and balance your priorities from day one.

Rewards & Benefits

At Diageo, we offer more than just a role— we offer an environment where you can thrive, grow and be recognised for your impact.

  • Competitive reward – Market-leading salary, performance-driven bonus and industry perks
  • Flexible ways of working – Hybrid working with no set office days, empowering you to balance work and life in a way that works for you
  • Industry-leading family leave – Generous paid parental leave for all parents, along with support for life’s key moments
  • Health & wellbeing – Comprehensive support including mental health resources, wellbeing initiatives and employee assistance programs
  • Career growth – Access to global opportunities, leading learning programs and clear pathways for development
  • Inclusive culture – A values-led, inclusive environment where you can bring your whole self to work
  • Product perks – Employee discounts and experiences across our iconic portfolio

Our purpose is crafting iconic drinks chosen for life’s moments. And it’s our people, with their different experiences, perspectives and talents, who make that possible.

We value diversity in its broadest sense and want everyone to feel they can belong, contribute and strive for their personal best. You’ll work alongside people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives — challenging, supporting and learning from one another as one outstanding team.

Together, we’re constantly learning and improving, combining the strength of our people, capabilities and iconic brands to raise the bar, grow and win. Wherever you join us, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute, make an impact and play your part in making life’s moments mean a little more.

Ready to bring your best? This could be your opportunity.
