Description (EN)

At Heathrow, we’re more than an airport – we’re a hub connecting people, businesses, and opportunities. As a Senior Community Engagement Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how Heathrow engages with its neighbouring communities, ensuring that the airport maximises the benefits and opportunities it can bring to the surrounding area while minimising its impact.

You’ll join our Communities and Residential Property team, working closely with colleagues across Heathrow to deliver meaningful engagement programmes working closely with local communities. This role is central to maintaining Heathrow’s commitment to being a responsible neighbour and a force for good in the surrounding area. Success in this role means building trust, delivering tangible community outcomes, and ensuring Heathrow’s voice is heard and understood in local conversations, while ensuring that the views and priorities of local communities are reflected in the airport’s ongoing operations and future plans.

  • Leading on developing and implementing community engagement plans and strategies that promote constructive dialogue between the airport and its neighbours.
  • Building a strong network of relationships with local authorities, schools, charities, and residents’ groups, and communities to ensure open dialogue and collaboration.
  • Representing Heathrow at community forums, public meetings, and stakeholder events, ensuring our commitments are clearly communicated and followed through.
  • Monitoring and evaluating engagement activities to measure their impact and continuously improve our approach, while ensuring community issues and feedback are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Supporting the wider Communications, Carbon and Communities department in responding to community issues and opportunities with insight and empathy.
  • Proven experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, or corporate responsibility within a complex organisation.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with diverse audiences.
  • Experience designing and delivering engagement programmes that achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Sound judgement and resilience when dealing with sensitive or high-profile community issues.
  • Understanding of local government structures and community networks in the Heathrow area or similar multi-layered community environments.
