Description (EN)

We are looking for an IT Operations Engineer to help build, operate, and secure the infrastructure that supports our rapidly growing company.

This is a broad role an early, hyper scaling startup. You will work across enterprise IT, server administration, hosting, DevOps, user support, and information security. The role combines hands-on technical operations with the opportunity to develop robust, well-managed IT environments for engineering, manufacturing, testing, and business operations.

We are looking for someone who understands that reliable IT is essential to a high-performance engineering organisation and that processes and platforms need to be scalable from initial implementation. You should be comfortable working across both Windows and Linux environments, troubleshooting directly, and improving systems rather than simply maintaining them.

About us

We’re a Germany-based rocketry startup currently in stealth mode, scaling up rapidly to meet the demand for high-performance, reliable, and scalable solid propulsion technologies for space and defense applications.

We are already launching ballistic rockets on a regular basis, have just crossed €10m in revenue for our first operating year and are applying our knowledge toward the development of an orbital rocket.

We are working hard to build something truly spectacular.

To thrive here you will need to be comfortable working at pace, with the autonomy to make decisions and execute on them quickly. If you’re excited by hard technical challenges and want a role where you will make a real difference each day to the future of the company, we may be the place for you.

At our company, job titles and career progression are earned, not determined by years of experience alone. They reflect the responsibility you take on and the dedication you bring to each project. If you’re ready to rise to the challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate and improve IT infrastructure across servers, endpoints, identity systems, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, and related services.

  • Manage Windows and Linux systems, including configuration, patching, backups, monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.

  • Support hosting and DevOps activities, including deployments, automation, system reliability, and operational documentation.

  • Manage user access, permissions, devices, software, and IT support requests across the organisation.

  • Help design and maintain secure, segregated, and reliable IT environments for engineering, operations, and business functions.

  • Support IT processes including incident management, change control, asset management, configuration management, and security compliance.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in IT operations, IT support, systems administration, server management, DevOps, hosting, or a similar technical role.

  • Practical experience administering Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, or comparable services.

  • Experience managing servers and infrastructure in Windows, Linux, data-centre, or hybrid environments.

  • A strong interest in IT security, system reliability, access control, hardening, monitoring, and structured operations.

  • The ability to troubleshoot methodically, document solutions clearly, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

  • A degree, vocational qualification, professional certification, or equivalent practical experience in IT, computer science, systems engineering, or a related field.

Desirable experience/Things you will have the opportunity to support

  • Classified-information requirements such as VS-NfD or higher, BSI IT-Grundschutz, or similar security frameworks.

  • Access and permission management, system hardening, security monitoring, segregated networks, or environments with high protection requirements.

  • BSI-approved cryptography or other regulated information-security requirements.

  • Cloud computing, virtualisation, hypervisors such as Proxmox, virtual machines, Docker, or Kubernetes.

  • Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Ansible or Terraform, together with software-development experience.

  • Enterprise IT tools including mobile-device management, patch management, CMDB, ISMS, monitoring, or hardware and asset-management systems.

Benefits and important information:

  • We offer top-decile compensation packages, bonuses and meaningful equity, to attract exceptional aerospace talent.

  • Every employee is awarded stock options in the company, you will directly benefit from your own hard work and success.

  • Comprehensive relocation support including flights, shipping and visas.

  • Lunch, dinner and drinks provided everyday

  • Free access to shared company housing

Please note, we are a fast paced, hyper-scaling startup. You will need to be comfortable working extended hours with high levels of autonomy, ownership, and flexibility, with contracts structured around a 48-hour working week.

We are committed to building an equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, has equal access to opportunity, and can thrive. We welcome different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences—and believe our differences make us stronger.
