Cost Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Engineer to support cost control and project delivery across a range of projects within nuclear decommissioning market. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Sellafield projects, a strong understanding of NEC contracts, and advanced analytical and reporting skills.

Your role

• Support cost control activities across projects of varying complexity.
• Develop and maintain cost forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Apply NEC contract principles in cost management and change control.
• Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to ensure accurate cost reporting.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Create dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel, and Visual Basic for Applications.
• Assist in the preparation of final accounts and cost close-out processes.

About you

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cost engineering or project controls.
• Experience managing cost functions on projects with various complexities.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
• Experience working on Sellafield or similar regulated projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA.
• Proficient in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a related field.
• Professional membership or certification (e.g., ACostE, RICS, APM, MAPM).
• Familiarity with ERP systems and project management tools.
