Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
The Startups, Grower team is a consultative sales team that is responsible for the growth and retention of the largest and fastest-growing Startup customers at Stripe. As an Account Executive, you'll identify new opportunities for our clients to get the most out of Stripe by understanding our clients' needs, execute scaled sales strategies to close upsells and renewals with existing Stripe customers, and drive end-to-end campaigns to increase adoption of Stripe products.
What you’ll do
As a Grower Account Executive on the EMEA Startups team, you’ll drive Stripe’s future growth through account expansion and client retention. You’ll advise businesses on how to optimise their operations using Stripe solutions. You’ll help users understand how Stripe’s modern financial infrastructure supports their growth ambitions and provides a competitive edge for their business or product.
Responsibilities
- Directly manage and cultivate a named list of existing user accounts, while crafting account plans to expand business and retain clients
- Understand users’ pain points and Stripe’s value for SaaS platform clients, proposing tailored solutions that support their long-term growth
- Guide clients through complex evaluations of Stripe solutions for SaaS platforms, working with cross-functional teams across Product, Risk, and Operations to move new projects through activation and adoption
- Develop and execute strategic programs that deepen product adoption and maximise effective utilisation across the current user base
- Foster executive relationships with stakeholders at existing clients to drive retention and identify expansion opportunities
- Work with cross-functional teams on shared initiatives that drive internal efficiency and broader business impact
- Contribute to Stripe’s go-to-market priority to expand the user base and optimise the renewals motion
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- You’re a curious, well-rounded strategic seller who builds strong relationships with Stripe’s clients in this key segment. You’re comfortable owning your territory and balancing a mix of high-value, strategic deals with smaller, high-velocity deal cycles.
- You’re solution-oriented and adaptable, with an interest in developing yourself and getting things done. You enjoy highly technical sales cycles and working with a diverse group of internal stakeholders.
- 4+ years of experience in a client-facing or closing sales role
- Ability to understand complex technical ecosystems and manage complex sales cycles
- Experience managing projects with input from cross-functional teams
- Ability to build relationships with technical customers, work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, contribute to team success, and share knowledge
- Motivation to operate in a highly ambiguous and fluid environment
- High professional fluency in Italian and English
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience in a sales or customer-facing role at a high-growth technology company
- Comfort interpreting and discussing API-first solutions
