Visa
In the UAE the employer usually arranges the work visa (country practice; the posting doesn’t say).
Check the posting for nationality or residence rules.
More about this
In these Gulf countries the employer normally applies for the work visa and residence permit. This is how hiring works there, not an offer written in the posting, and it applies only to these locations.

Working in UAE
Possible country route: Employer-sponsored work residence / Golden Visa. Standard employment residence is applied for by the employer. Golden Visa is a separate long-term route with category-specific eligibility; it is not included in every relocation offer.
Depends on the emirate, entry permit, work permit, medical checks and residence issuance. Confirm a dated plan with the employer and issuing authority.
What to check before applying
- Confirm the employment route. Ask which authority handles the work permit and residence.
- Verify costs and offer. For standard overseas hiring, official guidance assigns recruitment and residence processing costs to the employer.
- Complete arrival formalities. Follow the medical and Emirates ID instructions for your route.
Reviewed 2026-10-14. Country routes are context, not a confirmation that this vacancy or your passport qualifies.
Description (EN)
Etihad Airways is looking for an HR Policy professional to work on the design, governance, and compliance of HR policy across our global operation. You'll work at the intersection of employment law, HR strategy, and business change, building frameworks that hold up across multiple jurisdictions, drafting the policies and contract templates that support them, and driving the change management needed to make new ways of working stick. We're genuinely open to two kinds of background for this role: a junior employment lawyer looking to move into a hands-on advisory position, or a HR professional with strong policy, drafting, and analytical experience. What matters more than the path you took is how you think.
Accountabilities
- Design, draft, and maintain HR policies, contract templates, and employee handbook content across multiple countries, working closely with Legal on amendments.
- Stay abreast of employment law requirements market by market and ensuring policy stays compliant as regulations shift.
- Govern our policy and template library end-to-end version control, consistency, and rollout across all countries we operate in.
- Partner with Payroll, HR Business Partners, Legal and the business on change management for the implementation of changes and the delivery of HR briefings.
- Ongoing policy evaluation, monitoring and reporting, including tracking policy effectiveness, analysing HR data, gathering employee and stakeholder feedback
- Recommending improvements to enhance engagement and operational efficiency based on available data, emerging workplace trends and best practice in the market.
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
- 5-8 years' experience in employment law, HR policy, or benefits and working conditions from either a legal or senior HR background.
- At least 3 years' experience within a large, multinational organization with complex matrix reporting.
- Strong drafting and writing skills policies, contracts, and employee-facing documentation.
- Highly analytical: comfortable quantifying the cost and business impact of policy or process change.
- A proactive, low-instruction-needed, 'fix-it' mindset you spot problems and drive solutions without being asked.
- Comfortably using AI tools to support drafting, without losing your own critical thinking and judgment.
- Experience with HRIS platforms (SAP SuccessFactors or similar) is a plus.
- Aviation industry experience is an advantage, but we're open to all industry backgrounds.
