Working in United States

Possible country route: H-1B / other employer-petition routes. H-1B normally starts with an employer petition for a qualifying specialty occupation. Cap-subject cases also have registration and selection requirements; other routes differ.

Registration, petition and consular stages differ. Selection is not guaranteed and premium petition processing is not an end-to-end visa timeline.

What to check before applying
  1. Confirm the intended route. Ask whether the employer will petition and whether the position is cap-exempt.
  2. Check petition requirements. Use USCIS instructions for the applicable category and cap process.
  3. Coordinate consular and entry steps. An approved petition and a work-authorised start date are different milestones.

Description (EN)

We're looking for a Senior Operational Accountant, Contracts & Revenue, to join our Subsidy team and help manage the accounting behind our fast-growing state subsidy program. In this role, you'll turn subsidy contract terms into accurate revenue, billing, and reporting across multiple states. Reporting to the Team Lead, Accounting Management – State Subsidies, you'll partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and state agencies to keep results accurate and on time.

About the Role

  • Interpret state operating and capital subsidy contracts into accounting treatment and billing requirements.
  • Build the route-level subsidy bus miles forecast and revenue budget and explain variances to budget and prior year.
  • Own the monthly subsidy P&L, revenue amortization, and month-end close, with supporting reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Maintain the monthly subsidy reconciliation database, keeping it balanced to the general ledger.
  • Manage the full invoice process for your assigned states, from preparation to submission, and follow up on receivables.
  • Oversee state-funded bus accounting, including depreciation and dispositions, with Fixed Assets and Operations.
  • Support annual audits and present subsidy results to leadership.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience in complex accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting, with experience in revenue contracts and fixed assets.
  • Experience with government grant or subsidy accounting preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and ERP experience (NetSuite or similar); Power BI or Access a plus.
  • Detail oriented and comfortable with dense contract language, with strong analytical skills.
  • Clear communicator who can manage multiple state contracts and deadlines and work with leadership and state agencies.

We recognize that everyone carries a unique set of valuable skills and experiences. If you think you could have an impact even though you don't meet 100% of the requirements, we still encourage you to apply. We want to hear from you!
