About the role

As a Bartender at Johnnie Walker Princes Street, you’ll create memorable food and beverage experiences for visitors. Using your mixology skills, product knowledge and engaging personality, you’ll prepare and serve drinks, support bar operations and help deliver excellent service while contributing to the team’s performance.

What you’ll be doing

Welcome and engage with visitors, make food and beverage recommendations, answer menu questions, and take and process orders and payments.

Prepare and serve a range of beverages, using your mixology skills and knowledge of spirits, whisky and cocktails.

Deliver a positive guest experience by following service standards and communicating menu items, beverage descriptions and specials clearly.

Maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the bar, follow health and safety procedures, and take part in stock counts and replenishment.

Work with the team to achieve service, revenue and profitability targets, while keeping up to date with beverage trends and opportunities to improve the menu.

Support Diageo’s sustainability commitments and responsible drinking programme, and align with relevant alcohol licensing laws.

Share guest feedback with management, take part in training and apply what you learn, and support other teams when required.

You’ll have the opportunity to bring your creativity to the drinks offering, build your knowledge of world-renowned whisky brands and contribute to experiences that visitors will remember.

What you’ll bring

At least two years’ experience as a bartender in a similar high-quality hospitality environment, alongside experience in a customer-facing role.

Strong knowledge of beverages, spirits, whisky and cocktails; a recognised mixology or beverage qualification is an advantage.

A friendly, confident and engaging approach, with excellent communication and customer-service skills.

The ability to work collaboratively, stay organised, solve problems and maintain attention to detail, including when handling stock and payments.

Commercial awareness and the ability to work towards budgets and performance targets, with a good understanding of health, safety and responsible alcohol service.

Please note: This role involves evening and weekend work.
