Possible country route: Skills in Demand (subclass 482). The employer-sponsored Skills in Demand route has stream, nomination, occupation and applicant requirements. It replaced the earlier TSS route for new applications.

What to check before applying
  1. Confirm the sponsor and stream. Ask which 482 stream and occupation the employer intends to nominate.
  2. Check current requirements. Review qualifications, English, salary and any skills assessment on Home Affairs.
  3. Coordinate nomination and application. Keep the employer nomination and applicant visa steps distinct.

Depending on your experience and level of appointment, you will have opportunities to:

  • Lead and further develop clinical education and student placement programs in aged care
  • Support clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop confidence and capability in communication, swallowing and mealtime management
  • Promote contemporary, person-centred practice that supports residents' independence, informed choice, dignity of risk and quality of life
  • Develop and strengthen education resources, competency frameworks and sustainable learning systems

You will bring:

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to engage and collaborate effectively with clinicians, leaders and multidisciplinary teams
  • An interest in developing innovative approaches to education and workforce capability
  • Experience in quality improvement, service development, education program development and/or evaluation
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative Speech Pathology team
