Working in Australia

Possible country route: Skills in Demand (subclass 482). The employer-sponsored Skills in Demand route has stream, nomination, occupation and applicant requirements. It replaced the earlier TSS route for new applications.

Processing differs by stream and application circumstances. Check the current Home Affairs processing-time tool; employer nomination adds its own steps.

What to check before applying
  1. Confirm the sponsor and stream. Ask which 482 stream and occupation the employer intends to nominate.
  2. Check current requirements. Review qualifications, English, salary and any skills assessment on Home Affairs.
  3. Coordinate nomination and application. Keep the employer nomination and applicant visa steps distinct.

Description (EN)

Job Description:

Better and fairer care.  Always.

For over 170 years, St Vincent’s has stood as a pioneer in compassionate, high-quality care. Inspired by the enduring legacy of the Sisters of Charity and their Founder Mary Aikenhead, we are now embarking on our most ambitious chapter yet: Bringing Care Home. This bold strategy redefines how we serve our communities, extending our reach beyond traditional residential and hospital settings directly into people’s homes.

The Opportunity

As the Clinical Manager, you will be a mentor and leader, fostering a safe and supportive workplace for staff and volunteers while ensuring residents receive exceptional, person-centred care. Reporting to the Residential Care Services Manager, you will inspire and coach nursing and care staff, promote professional accountability and foster a culture of compassion, collaboration and continuous improvement.

This Permanent Full Time position is based in our Residential Aged Care Home located in Eltham.

St Vincent’s Care Services Eltham is situated on 17 acres with a vast amount of green space and beautiful natural surroundings. It is unique in that we have two separate facilities located on the one property.

With a combined total of 126 residents living at Eltham & Willandra, the role of Clinical Manager Willandra will be overseeing the care and support for 63 residents in Willandra. We provide a welcoming and inclusive community where our residents enjoy the comfort of a relaxed lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based, and person-centred clinical care, providing expert leadership in complex areas such as dementia care, behaviour support, medication safety, and infection control
  • Strengthen clinical governance, quality assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance to ensure full adherence to the Aged Care Act 2024 and strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Monitor clinical performance, resident outcomes, incidents, and quality indicators to identify, evaluate, and implement sustainable clinical improvements
  • Provide active clinical leadership, coaching, mentoring, and professional support to nursing and care teams while fostering a positive, inclusive, and accountable workplace culture
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with residents, families, representatives, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to support exceptional resident experiences and service-wide improvement.

About You:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA / Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership or management experience in residential aged care, ideally with at least three years in a comparable role
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Aged Care Act 2024, strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, and contemporary regulatory requirements
  • Advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, combined with sound digital literacy in electronic clinical systems
  • Strong alignment with St Vincent's values of Compassion, Justice, Integrity, and Excellence.

Things that work for you:

·        Permanent Full Time opportunity - Monday to Friday working arrangements

·        Join an inclusive, compassionate, and purpose-led organisation committed to social justice, equity, and leading as One St Vincent's

·        Opportunities for ongoing professional development, clinical leadership and career progression

·        More take-home pay with competitive salary packaging options up to $15,990, Novated leasing, plus an optional Meals and Entertainment card up to $2,650 per annum

·        Access to the Fitness Passport (FP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for you and your family, excellent internal career development and more!
