Working in Australia

Possible country route: Skills in Demand (subclass 482). The employer-sponsored Skills in Demand route has stream, nomination, occupation and applicant requirements. It replaced the earlier TSS route for new applications.

Processing differs by stream and application circumstances. Check the current Home Affairs processing-time tool; employer nomination adds its own steps.

What to check before applying
  1. Confirm the sponsor and stream. Ask which 482 stream and occupation the employer intends to nominate.
  2. Check current requirements. Review qualifications, English, salary and any skills assessment on Home Affairs.
  3. Coordinate nomination and application. Keep the employer nomination and applicant visa steps distinct.

Description (EN)

Here at Amazon we are currently seeking for Managers to support our Customer Fulfillment team.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the AU Fulfillment Center (FC) leadership team during its phase of expansion and growth, whereby you get to define the process flows and shape up standard work routines as the operations scale up.

As a Manager, you’ll deliver inspiring, inclusive leadership for the teams you supervise. But at the same time, you don’t shy away from getting involved whenever necessary.

You’ll be directly responsible for supervising a team of Associates and a department. You will be responsible for engaging your team during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance.

Key job responsibilities
1. Determining, implementing and monitoring purchasing, storage and distribution
strategies, policies and plans - AMs implement and monitor storage and distribution
strategies across FC workflows (receive, stow, pick, pack, ship). They analyse shift
performance against business objectives and drive operational excellence plans.
They oversee projects to streamline processes and optimise productivity across the
network.
2. Preparing and implementing plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum
cost - AMs maintain inventory accuracy and work to meet customer demand while
optimising productivity and cost. They conduct planning sessions and use
advanced analytics to balance competing priorities including stock availability.
3. Negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery
requirements - AMs collaborate cross-functionally with support teams (Engineering,
Quality Assurance, Loss Prevention, HR) to develop plans meeting business
objectives — managing internal "supply" of labour, equipment and process inputs
to meet quality, cost and delivery targets. Specifically, in Dev's role as a Vendor
Return AM, he will be liaising directly with supply chain and external vendors
4. Monitoring and reviewing storage and inventory systems to meet supply
requirements and control stock levels - AMs directly maintain inventory accuracy,
review department-wide metrics, and diagnose root causes of performance gaps.
FC workflows (stow, pick) are fundamentally about managing fast-moving inventory
in storage systems.
5. Operating recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished
goods, and ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times - AMs use
Amazon's WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) to track product movement
through receive → stow → pick → pack → ship. They monitor KPIs and use data
analysis to ensure optimal workflow timing.
6. Liaising with other departments and customers concerning requirements for
outward goods and associated forwarding transportation - AMs work collaboratively
with management-level colleagues to standardise shift practices and partner crossfunctionally. The FC's core mission is ensuring customer orders are delivered at the
right time — coordinating the "First Mile" handoff to middle-mile and last-mile
transportation.
7. Overseeing the recording of purchase, storage and distribution transactions - AMs
oversee operational recording systems across all FC workflows, tracking millions of
customer orders through storage and distribution. Data-driven decision-making is a
core requirement of the role.
8. Directing staff activities and monitoring their performance - This is the primary
function — AMs lead teams of 80–120+ associates, motivating, mentoring,
coaching, managing safety, quality, attendance and performance. They conduct
performance management and develop the next generation of leaders.
9. Provision of products and services to meet customer or client requirements - The
entire CF mission: "ensuring customer orders are delivered at the right time, to the
right location" — handling 1.5M+ orders daily, focused on being Earth's most
customer-centric company.

Basic qualifications

- Previous experience in leading large, diverse teams.
- More than 6 months experience as Area Manager.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Experience in employee and performance management experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability in establishing and carry out root cause analysis, and then extract and analyze the data you generate.

Preferred qualifications

- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills.
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous.
