What is the 30% ruling in the Netherlands?
The 30% ruling allows qualifying expats to receive 30% of their gross salary tax-free for up to 5 years. To qualify, you must be hired from abroad, earn at least €46,107/year (2024), and have specific expertise. Most employers who sponsor visas apply for this automatically.
Do I need a Dutch work permit?
Non-EU citizens need a Combined Permit (GVVA) or a European Blue Card. Your employer sponsors the application. Processing takes 8–15 weeks. The Netherlands is one of the easier EU countries for skilled worker immigration.
