Production Engineer

Synopsis

The Production Planning Engineer reports to the Lead Production Planning Engineer and ensures that Etihad Airway’s safety, airworthiness and economic objectives are met in an efficient manner using capacity planning tools. The Production Planning Engineer ensures that a proactive and integrated approach is adopted towards the capacity planning for the Line, Light Maintenance departments. The role is responsible for monitoring resource and facility requirements cater to maintenance tasks in accordance with the approved AMP and Etihad Maintenance Policy.

Accountabilities

• Develops project plans to deliver the business requirements as requested by Lead Production Planning Engineer
• Monitor the processes within Technical Operations to provide a seamless and efficient workflow, Managing the program to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved.
• Manage the capacity planning tools to ensure a consistent approach is adopted to maintain the serviceability of aircrafts and the best Technical Dispatch Reliability.
• Establish efficient and effective internal procedures including interfaces to support the department objectives as well as provide assistance to other departments for capacity planning in addition to forecasting of requirements.
• Review the capacity trend for Line & Light maintenance on a monthly basis to evaluate the resource requirements and draft budget plans for additional resource as and when required.
• Monitor and review the 14-day WLC to ensure all proposed plans are within capacity.
• Participate in event meetings, production meetings and involve in decision making process to cater to AOG or Planned casualty input requirements over and above the 14-day WLC plan.
• Coordinate with Stakeholders to arrange additional infrastructure and facilities like Hangar, Cranes, Dockings, Special Tools, Parking bays etc in a timely manner to meet all maintenance demands from CAMO.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned by Lead Production Planning Engineer.
• Ensures that all work performed at Etihad is completed in accordance with the processes and procedures recorded on the approved manuals and is done in a safe manner.
• Familiar with, enforces and follows the procedures stipulated in the Safety & Quality Management Manual (SQMM) and becomes an active participant in the workplace safety program.
• Encourages colleagues and is actively involved in the promotion of a positive reporting culture, by reporting any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions or safety risk.

Education & Experience

• Tertiary qualifications that meet the eligibility requirements for membership as a chartered engineer (e.g. Bachelors degree in the field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical / Electronic Engineering) with a minimum 3 years job-related experience.
• Or Diploma / Aircraft license with at least 7 years of experience in Aviation maintenance. 
• Aircraft technical training (Gen fam course is acceptable) on at least one of the Etihad aircraft types. Mandatory training courses in accordance with TPM 3.92 – Technical Operations Training Program.
