SRE Platform engineer - Senior & Staff
Kubernetes | AWS | IaC | Software Engineering | Amsterdam, Hybrid
You’ll join a global technology company with a tech hub in Amsterdam that is investing heavily in the engineering foundations behind its products. The products/services are There's a very tangible connection between the software you build and what happens in the real world.
The landscape is heavily cloud-native: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and modern observability tooling. The interesting part, however, isn’t maintaining those technologies. The team is expected to improve the underlying platform itself.
Think about problems such as:
- How should Kubernetes environments evolve as engineering usage and complexity increase?
- Which infrastructure tasks can disappear through better automation?
- How do you make infrastructure changes safer without slowing engineers down?
- How do you spot reliability problems before customers notice them?
- How do you turn lessons from production incidents into better platform design?
- Where can software replace operational work?
You’ll have room to work across cloud architecture, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, networking, observability and reliability.
We’re therefore interested in engineers who have actually been responsible for production infrastructure, rather than only consuming a cloud/platform built by somebody else.
Technically, the strongest profiles will probably bring a combination of AWS, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code, plus the ability to automate or build tooling in a language such as Go or Python. Experience with IaC, GitOps, Datadog/Prometheus and CI/CD is highly relevant, but matching every individual tool isn't necessary.
At Staff level, the expectation moves beyond being an excellent individual contributor. We’re looking for people who have made architectural decisions, introduced standards or driven infrastructure changes that affected several engineering teams.
What’s on offer
- an Amsterdam-based hybrid setup
- High-end base salary with equity + bonus,
- Visa transfer / sponsorship + 30% ruling included for engineers based in NL.
- Relocation and visa support for bar-raisers who are able to join within 3 months.
Never pay a recruiter for a job offer or a visa promise. Check the original posting and employer identity before sharing documents. Pay any legitimate government visa fees only through official channels.
